Dryden Beautification Brigade
Neighbors sharing in the joy of working side-by-side to brighten our village
Cultivating village beauty, knowledge, and friendships among all ages and expertise
WHAT IS THE BEAUTY BRIGADE
Established in 2007 with start-up support from Tompkins County, the Village of Dryden, and local businesses, the Dryden Beautification Brigade is a volunteer organization dedicated to fostering community pride and horticultural education by caring for existing village gardens and planters, installing new plantings and public art, and hosting outreach events. Volunteers meet as their schedule permits in the spring, summer, and fall months to work on projects together in a jovial atmosphere. Beautification efforts are supported by private and public sources as well as by the funds garnered through hosting the Dryden Garden and Art Tour. If you have inquiries about funding or are interested in making a donation, please refer to our contact page.
WHO IS THE BEAUTY BRIGADE
The brigade is open to volunteers of all ages and joining requires no previous gardening experience. Each workday consists of varied tasks to fulfill the seasoned gardener and those looking to try their hand for the first time. Bring the whole family and share in the joy of meeting new neighbors!
WHEN DO WE MEET
Workdays are held on two week nights, Tuesday or Wednesday, and one Saturday morning each month. Come when you are able or join as a Core Member and commit to attending half of all workdays each season and to adopting a planter.
